Constitutive modeling of sea ice with applications to indentation problems / Seng-Kiong Ting, S. Shyam Sunder.
Title: | Constitutive modeling of sea ice with applications to indentation problems / Seng-Kiong Ting, S. Shyam Sunder. |
Author(s): | Ting, Seng-Kiong. Sunder, S. Shyam. |
Date: | 1985. |
Publisher: | Cambridge, MA: Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Center for Scientific Excellence in Offshore Engineering |
Abstract: | Deals with: (1) development of integrated rate-sensitive constitutive theory for describing mechanical behaviour of sea ice, (2) development of finite element method of analysis for problems in which material behaviour is rate-sensitive and inelastic deformations dominate, and (3) study of steady-state sea-ice indentation in creeping mode for predicting global forces and local pressure on Arctic offshore structures. |
