Record #77712:

Rheological properties of temperate firn / Walter Ambach, Heinrich Eisner.

Title: Rheological properties of temperate firn / Walter Ambach, Heinrich Eisner.
Author(s): Ambach, Walter.
Eisner, Heinrich.
Date: 1985.
In: Polarforschung. (1985.), Vol. 55(2) (1985)
Abstract: Deformation measurements carried out over period of 11 a in 20 m deep firn pit in accumulation area of Kesselwandferner, Austrian Alps. Data evaluated by application of Newtonian model, determining shear and bulk viscosity as well as by introduction of non-linear constitutive equation for temperate firn. For transition of firn into glacier ice, Glens's flow law for incompressible ice results.
