Abstract: | Factors affecting oxygen isotope contents of ice cores. Presents simple model for transport of atmospheric water vapour; input is zonally averaged evaporation field and mean meridional travel distance of tropospheric water vapour as function of latitude. Model used to predict zonal averages of δ(¹⁸O) for present day and 18 ka BP. |
