Record #77273:

Lake Erie cable crossing - ice scour study / James D. Grass.

Title: Lake Erie cable crossing - ice scour study / James D. Grass.
Author(s): Grass, James D.
Date: 1985.
Publisher: Ottawa: National Research Council of Canada. Associate Committee on Geotechnical Research
In: National Research Council of Canada. Associate Committee on Geotechnical Research. Technical Memorandum. (1985.), Vol. 136 (1985)
Abstract: Construction planned of high-voltage transmission cable system across eastern basin of lake. Corridor will be 105 km long and 4.5 km wide. Marine geophysical surveys using side-scan sonar and bottom and subbottom profiling echo sounders have been used to study submarine conditions and revealed existence of ice scours in about 13 to 25 m of water. For protection, cables will be buried in trenches. Discussion, p.10.
