Record #77213:

Some factors influencing iceberg scour estimates / K.S.R. Prasad, T.R. Chari.

Title: Some factors influencing iceberg scour estimates / K.S.R. Prasad, T.R. Chari.
Author(s): Prasad, K. S. R.
Chari, T. R.
Date: 1985.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the Fourth International Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering Symposium, presented at Energy-Sources Technology & Exhibition, Dallas, Texas, February 17-21, 1985. (1985.), Vol. 2.
Abstract: Estimate of maximum scour depth necessary for safe burial of seabed structures. Appraises potential error in predictions of scour caused by assuming linear velocity variations. Examines effect of initial penetration of iceberg before scouring action. Shows that upper and lower bounds of initial penetration exist, which influence resulting scour type. Refers especially to Hibernia oil field, North Atlantic.
