Record #77202:

A damage mechanics model for uniaxial deformation of ice / D.G. Karr.

Title: A damage mechanics model for uniaxial deformation of ice / D.G. Karr.
Author(s): Karr, D. G.
Date: 1985.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the Fourth International Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering Symposium, presented at Energy-Sources Technology & Exhibition, Dallas, Texas, February 17-21, 1985. (1985.), Vol. 2.
Abstract: Focuses on development of stress-strain relations for pure polycrystalline ice subjected to uniaxial compression where deformation mechanisms involve dislocation glide in combination with internal cracking. Quantitative results presented by directly relating formation of internal cracks to published acoustic emission response of ice subjected to compression.
