| Abstract: | Assesses influence of test conditions on response of soil when investigating response of chilled gas pipeline to frost heave and to heaving pressure, developed when heave is restrained. Assesses effects of specimen preparation and size, and freezing procedure. Results demonstrated sensitivity of both heave and heaving pressure to test conditions, which implies that modifications in techniques requires careful assessment and should be related to expected field environment. |
