Surface micromorphology of columnar ice crystals growing in air at high and low supersaturations / Takehiko Gonda, Tadanori Sei, Hideki Gomi.

Title: Surface micromorphology of columnar ice crystals growing in air at high and low supersaturations / Takehiko Gonda, Tadanori Sei, Hideki Gomi.
Author(s): Gonda, Takehiko.
Sei, Tadanori.
Gomi, Hideki.
Date: 1985.
Publisher: Tokyo: National Institute of Polar Research
In: National Institute of Polar Research. Memoirs. Special Issue. (1985.), Vol. 39 (1985)
Abstract: Concludes that long hollow prisms, i.e. prisms with large skeletal structures, grow by two-dimensional nucleation mechanism at supersaturations >=10%, while long prisms with small skeletal structures grow by screw dislocation mechanism at supersaturations <=2%.
