Record #75736:

The effect of sample orientation on the compressive strength of multi-year pressure ridge ice samples / Jacqueline A. Richter-Menge, Gordon F.N. Cox.

Title: The effect of sample orientation on the compressive strength of multi-year pressure ridge ice samples / Jacqueline A. Richter-Menge, Gordon F.N. Cox.
Author(s): Richter-Menge, Jacqueline A.
Cox, Gordon F. N.
Date: 1985.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Civil Engineers
In: Civil Engineering in the Arctic Offshore; proceedings of the Conference Arctic '85 ... San Francisco, California, March 25-27, 1985. (1985.),
Abstract: Matched pairs of horizontal and vertical sea-ice samples, taken from multi-year pressure ridge in Beaufort Sea, were tested in uniaxial compression at constant strain-rate to evaluate effect of sample orientation on compressive strength. Results indicate that sample orientation must be considered in interpretation of data.
