Record #75369:

Acoustic and mechanical properties of frozen sand / T.H.W. Baker, P.J. Kurfurst.

Title: Acoustic and mechanical properties of frozen sand / T.H.W. Baker, P.J. Kurfurst.
Author(s): Baker, T. H. W.
Kurfurst, P. J.
Date: 1985.
Publisher: Rotterdam: A.A. Balkema
In: Proceedings of the Fourth International Symposium on Ground Freezing/Sapporo/5-7 August 1985. Ground freezing. (1985.),
Abstract: Compares results of tests on frozen sand and describes effects of specimen dry density and salinity on measurement of mechanical properties. These properties are used in designing artificially frozen soil structures and in geological engineering investigations in frozen ground.
Notes:

In: Proceedings of the Fourth International Symposium on Ground Freezing/Sapporo/5-7 August 1985. Ground freezing / Seiiti Kinosita, Masami Fukuda, eds.

Keywords: 551.345 -- Permafrost. Cryopedology.
539.3 -- Ice, mechanical properties.
534.2 -- Acoustics in ice.
E8 -- Glaciology: frost action and permafrost.
