| Abstract: | Samples of laboratory ice deformed in parallel-plate shear apparatus to strains of 100%. Strain rates in constant stress tests exhibit both minimum and maximum. New type of shear deformation apparatus, which may overcome some problems inherent to present test system, is discussed. |
