Record #74794:

Deformations striking parallel to glacier movement as a problem in reconstructing its direction / Hans-Jürgen Stephan.

Title: Deformations striking parallel to glacier movement as a problem in reconstructing its direction / Hans-Jürgen Stephan.
Author(s): Stephan, Hans-Jürgen.
Date: 1985.
In: Geological Society of Denmark. Bulletin. (1985.), Vol. 34(1-2) (1985)
Abstract: Points out that analysis of glaciogenic deformations can lead to wrong view of movement of ice sheets when deformations which run parallel to direction of glacier movement are interpreted as striking transversely. These deformations are quite common; examples from Schleswig-Holstein, north Germany, are described.
Notes:

Keywords: 551.333 -- Glacial deformation and glaciotectonic structures.
E7 -- Glaciology: glacial geology and ice ages.
(430.1) -- Federal Republic of Germany.
