| Abstract: | Measurements of "Kitdlerssuaq" glacier, Sukkertoppen, 1982 and 1983. Horizontal velocity in ablation and accumulation areas increased during summer, indicating that melting reached bed and glacier was sliding. Suggests melt water produced in ablation area is forced up-glacier through subglacial water system. |
