Abstract: Laboratory data analyzed using boundary-layer model based on turbulent channel-flow boundary-layer theory in which buoyancy effects become important because of vertical gradients in temperature, salinity, and suspended frazil-ice crystals. Crystals treated as thin uniform plates. General experimental findings well reproduced by model.
