Record #74493:

X-ray technique for observation of ice lens growth in partially frozen, saturated soil / Takeshi Ishizaka, Kiyoshi Yoneyama, Nobuaki Nishio.

Title: X-ray technique for observation of ice lens growth in partially frozen, saturated soil / Takeshi Ishizaka, Kiyoshi Yoneyama, Nobuaki Nishio.
Author(s): Ishizaka, Takeshi.
Yoneyama, Kiyoshi.
Nishio, Nobuaki.
Date: 1985.
In: Cold Regions Science and Technology. (1985.), Vol. 11(3) (1985)
Abstract: Describes use of Yoneyama's technique to calculate rates of water flow in both frozen and unfrozen zones of freezing soil under different temperature gradients and overburden pressures and then to use these data to calculate hydraulic conductivities in frozen soil. Of use in evaluating models used to describe frost heave of saturated soils under different overburden pressures in field.
Notes:
