Record #74270:

Climatic implications of isostatic adjustment constraints on current variations of eustatic sea level / W.R. Peltier.

Title: Climatic implications of isostatic adjustment constraints on current variations of eustatic sea level / W.R. Peltier.
Author(s): Peltier, W. R.
Date: 1985.
Publisher: Washington, D.C.: United States. Department of Energy
In: Glaciers, ice sheets, and sea level : effect of a CO₂-induced climatic change. Report of a workshop held in Seattle, Washington September 13-15, 1984. (1985.),
Abstract: Reviews geophysical data supporting notion that mass of water in global ocean is increasing. Suggests tide-gauge measurements are contaminated by on-going isostatic adjustment in response to melting of Würm-Wisconsin ice from 6 to 18 ka BP, whereas data obtained by measuring wander of Earth's pole of rotation with respect to surface geography are explicable as response to same cause.
