Record #73831:

Short-term velocity measurements at Columbia Glacier, Alaska: August-September 1984 / Bruce H. Vaughn, and 9 others.

Title: Short-term velocity measurements at Columbia Glacier, Alaska: August-September 1984 / Bruce H. Vaughn, and 9 others.
Author(s): Vaughn, Bruce H.
Date: 1985.
Publisher: Tacoma, Washington: U.S. Department of the Interior. Geological Survey
Abstract: Measurements made to investigate dynamics of glacier in south-central Alaska and to provide input to models for estimation of future retreat and iceberg discharge. Ice velocity ranged from 8 to >=15 m d⁻¹. Flyer includes information that, as rate of iceberg calving is so great, amounting to 15 m d⁻¹, glacier is retreating at rate of 6 m d⁻¹.
Keywords: 551.324.54 -- Land ice, flow of particular glaciers: Columbia Glacier.
551.32 -- Glaciology.
551.324 -- Land ice.
551.324.433 -- Land ice, ablation and calving: Columbia Glacier.
E5 -- Glaciology: land ice.
(*491) -- Alaska, southcentral and southwest.
(*49) -- Alaska.
