Abstract: Literature reviews showed lack of previous studies on subject; pertinent studies of erosion of lakes, coasts and rivers reviewed and applied as analogies. Causes include mass movements, cryogenic processes, water-level fluctuations, overland flow, burrowing by animals and action of waves, currents and floating ice. Extensive bibliography.
