Abstract: | Whites of Finland felt solidarity with people of NE Karelia, and saw opportunity when Reds planned to take them in rear. They managed to repel Reds, but were not welcomed into NE, as available troops were poor quality, HQ offered little support and locals did not favour White Finland. White soldiers felt no solidarity either, and in squalid conditions were near mutiny. Leaders did maintain interest, to await new opportunity. Includes references to Wallenius and material from Samuli Paulaharju. |
