Risk analysis methodology for mobile offshore units operating in ice-fested waters / Maher A. Nessim, Alan Murray, M.A. Maes, I.J. Jordaan.
Title: | Risk analysis methodology for mobile offshore units operating in ice-fested waters / Maher A. Nessim, Alan Murray, M.A. Maes, I.J. Jordaan. |
Author(s): | Nessim, Maher A. Murray, Alan. Maes, M. A. Jordaan, I. J. |
Date: | [1984] |
Publisher: | [New York]: [Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Arctic Section] |
In: | Ice Tech '84. Third International Conference on Icebreaking & Related Technologies, Calgary, May 1984. ([1984]), [1]. |
Abstract: | Discusses possibilities and consequences of ice collisions with mobile offshore unit, considering "permissible" collisions with ice which does not exceed specified disconnection criterion and "catastrophic" collisions with larger ice features which occur if ice-monitoring/disconnection systems fail. Concentrates on occurrence, size and velocity of ice features. Discussion in supplementary volume, p.H1-H4. |
Notes: | In: Ice Tech '84. Third International Conference on Icebreaking & Related Technologies, Calgary, May 1984. [1]. / International Conference on Icebreaking and Related Technologies. |
Keywords: | 624.145 -- Floating ice, engineering aspects. 622.24 -- Drilling and boring. E6 -- Glaciology: floating ice. |
