Record #71111:

The classification of ambiguous ice particle shadowgraphs by consensus / Rosemary M. Dyer, Morton Glass, Herbert E. Hunter.

Title: The classification of ambiguous ice particle shadowgraphs by consensus / Rosemary M. Dyer, Morton Glass, Herbert E. Hunter.
Author(s): Dyer, Rosemary M.
Glass, Morton.
Hunter, Herbert E.
Date: 1984.
Publisher: Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts: Air Force Geophysics Laboratory, Atmospheric Sciences Division
Abstract: Attempt to derive training set for construction of computer algorithms that would permit automatic classification of atmospheric ice particle type is made difficult by problem of accurate interpretation of images to identify particle. Human error is largest factor to be overcome.
Keywords: 551.578.4 -- Ice needles, sleet, falling snow and graupel.
E3 -- Glaciology: instruments and methods.
Location(s): SCO: SPRI-PAM: 551.578.4
SPRI record no.: 71111
