Der findes ikke noget fiskefelt i Nordhavet som det grønlandske / Johannes "Sonja" Larsen.

Title: Der findes ikke noget fiskefelt i Nordhavet som det grønlandske / Johannes "Sonja" Larsen.
Translated title: There are no fishing grounds in the Arctic like the Greenland ones.
Author(s): Larsen, Johannes "Sonja".
Date: 1983.
Publisher: [Copenhagen?]: Det grønlandske Selskab
Language: Danish.
In: Grønlandserindringer. (1983.),
Abstract: Faroese Larsen started on whaler Sonja in 1946. He had earlier tried fishing in 1925, but prices collapsed. War years helped whale stock to recover. West Greenlanders used to keep watch for arrival of Sonja and her whale meat, very important factor in survival for some communities. Song about ship is still used for continuity on radio. Base for whaling was Tovqussaq, and Larsen describes catches taken there, including blue whale until stocks were threatened. Cod stocks have suffered since trawls went from 50 to 200 fathoms maximum.
