Record #66465:

Hålogaland Teater - eit nordnorsk teater i nordnorsk språkdrakt / Tove Bull.

Title: Hålogaland Teater - eit nordnorsk teater i nordnorsk språkdrakt / Tove Bull.
Translated title: Hålogaland Theatre - a North Norwegian theatre in North Norwegian dress.
Author(s): Bull, Tove.
Date: 1982.
Publisher: Oslo: Det Norske Samlaget
Language: Norwegian.
In: Nordnorsk. Språkarv og språkforhold i Nord-Noreg. (1982.),
Abstract: Theatre was started in 1970, largely due to Lars Berg. It was expected that educated characters should speak more standard idiolect; this would, in long run, indoctrinate audience in notion that their dialect was inferior, or even that northerners were unlikely to get good education. Actors were to use Northern dialect in script, but only one, Saami Nils Utsi, set out to learn such dialect. Biggest problem was: which dialect? Example of putting "Peer Gynt" into North Norwegian is shown. Dagbladet picked several holes in "Senja" dialect, while Gula Tidend was full of praise for "freshness" of script.
Notes:
