| Abstract: | During 1980 and 1981, simple techniques were developed for obtaining loads exerted on artificial island in Beaufort Sea by colliding ice floes, and it was found that large-scale multiyear ice forces are much lower than might be predicted from laboratory or small-scale field tests. 1983 programme will expand range of field tests. |
