Record #61080:
HF to VHF radiofrequency polarization studies in sea ice at Pt. Barrow, Alaska / Steven A. Arcone, Allan J. Delaney.
Title: | HF to VHF radiofrequency polarization studies in sea ice at Pt. Barrow, Alaska / Steven A. Arcone, Allan J. Delaney. |
Author(s): | Arcone, Steven A. Delaney, Allan J. |
Date: | 1980. |
Publisher: | St. John's, Newfoundland : |
In: | C-Core Publication. (1980.), Vol. 80-5 (1980) |
Abstract: | Design of electromagnetic techniques for remote sensing of sea ice must consider electrical properties of sea ice. Five sites investigated off Point Barrow, Alaska, in Beaufort Sea, at frequencies between 10 and 173 MHz. Strongest polarization between 35 and 65 MHz. Above this, high measured dc conductivity of sea ice accounts for lack of cross coupling, but not yet understood why data were so erratic below this. |
