Abstract: Fourth of 10 volumes. presenting results of observations made as part of programme conducted by Esso Resources Canada Ltd and Gulf Canada Resources Ltd to ensure safety of oil-drilling operations as well as to investigate nature of sea-ice rubble around artificial island Issungnak 0-61 in Beaufort Sea. Stress panels made of polycarbonate sandwich with "filling" of active ethylene glycol fluid as pressure transmitter. Remained in place from March to June 1980 to monitor interaction of moving ice against island.
