| Abstract: | Lattice arrangement of fixed logs prevented avalanches on deforested slope, while adjoining slope was subjected to usual avalanches. Fir planting trials on latticed slope were successful, and after some years these prevented avalanches themselves and lattice was allowed to disintegrate. Discussion, p.257-258. |
