Record #59571:
Late Wisconsin reconstruction for the Ross Sea region, Antarctica / David J. Drewry.
Title: | Late Wisconsin reconstruction for the Ross Sea region, Antarctica / David J. Drewry. |
Author(s): | Drewry, David J. |
Date: | 1979. |
In: | Journal of Glaciology. (1979.), Vol. 24(90) (1979) |
Abstract: | If sea-level depression were < or >120-130 m but sustained for <10⁴ a, it is unlikely that Ross Ice Shelf would have become fully grounded over whole continental shelf. Sediments flooring Ross Sea and recent estimates of sea-level lowering and post-glacial emergence yield little support for grounded ice but do provide evidence for expanded ice-shelf conditions. Presents reconstruction based on this premise. Model compatible with field evidence. Discussion, p. 243-244. |
Notes: | Journal of Glaciology. Vol. 24(90) :231-243 (1979). |
