| Abstract: | Discussion of technical specifications of various air-cushion vehicles (ACVs), and comparison with other types of snow-bog vehicles, with particular reference to preservation of Arctic tundra vegetation. ACVs are competitive with both aircraft and helicopters. Construction cost of non-self-propelled ACVs will be slightly higher than that of standard heavy-duty trailers with same payload, whereas cargo transport expenses will be ten times less in comparison with wheeled heavy-duty trailers.
