Abstract: All concentrations of Na⁺, K⁺, Mg²⁺ and Ca²⁺ decrease with depth from firn/ice transition at 52 m to between 125 and 150 m. From 150 to 250 m, cationic concentrations are constant. Indicates that ice above 124 m fell as snow and that ice below 150 m originated inland on Byrd Land.
