| Abstract: | The first expedition took place 1971-72; glaciological work continued in 1973 on Meren and Carstensz glaciers. Biological programme was confined to cryovegetation on these two glaciers. Survey programme established photo-cpntrol, re-surveying ice fronts and fixing position of drill holes in ice. Photographs were taken to provide record of position of 1973 ice fronts; geomorphological work concentrated on collection of control samples for radiocarbon dating and continuation of search for soils buried beneath sequences of till deposits. Includes separate reports by tean leaders. |
