The Igaliko nepheline syenite complex - general description / C.H. Emeleus, W.T. Harry.
Title: | The Igaliko nepheline syenite complex - general description / C.H. Emeleus, W.T. Harry. |
Author(s): | Emeleus, C. H. Harry, W. T. |
Date: | 1970. |
In: | Grønlands Geologiske Undersøgelse. Bulletin. (1970.), Vol. 85 (1970) |
Abstract: | Syenites and related rocks cover area of c. 450 km². Complex belongs to group of Precambrian igneous intrusions comprising Gardar Igneous Province, with four intrusive centres and associated satellitic syenites. Each centre has several intrusive members. Mineralogy of syenites is usually simple. Internal structures are generally concentric, inward-dipping, sometimes with succesive intrusions at appreciable time intervals. Dykes of Mid-Gardar swarms keep their regional WSW-ENE strike almost everywhere. Two major sinistral faults strike E-W. |
Notes: | Grønlands Geologiske Undersøgelse. Bulletin. Vol. 85 :1-115 (1970). |
Keywords: | 552.3 -- Igneous rocks. B -- Geology and soil sciences. (*3) -- Arctic regions. (*38) -- Greenland. (*384.86) -- Qaqortoq/Julianehab. |
