Abstract: In this paper, the northern woodland area of Manitoba runs north of the line of the Saskatchewan River from the western boundary of Manitoba eastward through Lake Winnipeg to Ontario boundary, i.e. slightly south of 54° N, with northern limit at approximately 57° N. Note that the present woodland area in northern Manitoba extends somewhat north of this line, particularly in the north-west.
