Abstract: Present information suggests that corals of the sub-Antarctic and the Antarctic comprise a biogeographic unit, the 'southern ocean' fauna, composed of the corals which inhabit the southern portions of the Indian, Pacific, and South Atlantic Oceans, as well as the Antarctic waters. In general, this area extends as far north as the Subtropical Convergence.
