Abstract: Report is devoted to Saami in Sweden, with some objectivity, although government sponsored. Tomas Cramér, Lapp ombudsman, describes State's role as judge and jury in land matters, particularly where State takes roads, power installations or mines from reindeer pastures, and sets its own compensation. Other topics are herding, tourism and realism, crafts and other employment, feelings in Kiruna (with more reindeer herders than in any other district) that Saami are over-privileged, Saami schools, care of old in clusters or institutions, rural slums, and drunkenness among young.
