Abstract: | Italian text, with translation and long introduction of Nicolo Zeno junior's Dello scoprimento dell' isole Frislanda, Eslanda, Engronelanda, Estotilanda, & Icaria, fatto per due fratelli Zeni, M. Nicolò il caualiere, & M. Antonio (Venice 1558). Editor argues that the Zeni did in fact visit Iceland and Greenland in 14th century and obtained contemporary accounts of two parts of North America. Includes text of Icelander Ivar Bardsen's 14th century description of Greenland in Danish, Latin and English. |
