Abstract: The gamma-gamma and neutron-gamma methods of determining snow, firn, and Ice densities in boreholes were tested at Mirnyy Station and on the Mirnyy-South Pole traverse. The neutron-gamma system was found to be more accurate in low density snow (0.35 g/cm3 and less)
