| Abstract: | Analysis of stomach contents at the time of killing indicate that humpback whales feed every 3 to 4 hours while in Antarctic waters. At the estimated rate of 3950 kg of crustaceans per day, one whale may consume 422 to 453 tons per 4 month Antarctic feeding season. |
