Record #35621:
The glide direction in ice / W. Barclay Kamb.
Title: | The glide direction in ice / W. Barclay Kamb. |
Author(s): | Kamb, W. Barclay. |
Date: | 1961. |
In: | Journal of Glaciology. (1961.), Vol. 3(30) (1961) |
Abstract: | Shows that, although simultaneous translation gliding with nonlinear creep law leads in tetragonal crystals to effects envisaged by Glen and Perutz (ibid., 1954, 2(16) :254-265), in hexagonal crystals quite different effects occur, which explains apparent absence of glide direction of crystal. |
Notes: | Journal of Glaciology. Vol. 3(30) :1097-1106 (1961). |
Keywords: | 551.32 -- Glaciology. 551.322 -- Ice and snow. 53 -- Physics. 539.37 -- Ice, plastic and viscous deformation. |
