Record #34651:

The simultaneity of sudden commencements of magnetic storms / V.L. Williams.

Title: The simultaneity of sudden commencements of magnetic storms / V.L. Williams.
Author(s): Williams, V. L.
Date: 1960.
In: Journal of Geophysical Research. (1960.), Vol. 65(1) (1960)
Abstract: Analyses of rapid-run magnetograms showed that (1) sudden commencements always occurred first in high or middle latitudes; (2) at Little America, sudden commencements were registered first or second 85% of the time; and (3) the apparent propagation velocities around the magnetic equator averaged between 1145 and 2835 km/sec.
Notes:

Journal of Geophysical Research. Vol. 65(1) :85-92 (1960).

Keywords: 550.3 -- Geophysics.
550.385.4 -- Magnetic storms.
550.383 -- Geomagnetism, basic analysis.
