| Abstract: | Density can be computed if it is assumed that ice and air in ice are subjected to pressure due to weight of overlying material. Thus it should be possible to deduce form that curve of density versus depth should have for ice of constant air content. Reasons for divergence of observed depth--density profiles from those predicted by this theory are discussed. |
