Record #30845:

Gases in glaciers / L.K. Coachman, Erik Hemmingsen, Per F. Scholander.

Title: Gases in glaciers / L.K. Coachman, Erik Hemmingsen, Per F. Scholander.
Author(s): Coachman, L. K.
Hemmingsen, Erik.
Scholander, Per F.
Date: 1958.
Abstract: Reviews origin of air inclusions in glacier ice and their relation to past climate. Although changes may occur in gas enclosed in temperate glaciers, gas in polar ice is well preserved and its composition may yield information on amount of meltwater present during firnification and thus on climate at time of ice formation.
Notes:

Offprint: Science. Vol. 127 :1288-1289.
