| Abstract: | Unusual raftlike structures in sheets of thin sea ice were observed near land, at Hopedale, Labrador, and Wolstenholme Fjord, Greenland. Result of thin ice sheets being forced into each other by wind and waves. When thicker pack ice is subjected to these forces, pressure ridges result. See also note from J.N. Weber, reported in ibid., 1958, 3(24) :291. |
