Abstract: In most complete copy known (formerly the property of J.E. Gray) these two parts are bound together with narrative of voyage by J.D. Hooker and report on mammals by J.E. Gray, which together form "Vol.1. Mammalia, Birds;" title page and contents list published in 1875 with continuous pagination. First part relates to New Zealand birds; appendix includes coloured plates of Antarctic birds drawn by D.W. Mitchell.
