Record #25049:

On the causes of palaeoclimatic variations and of the ice ages in particular / E.J. Öpik.

Title: On the causes of palaeoclimatic variations and of the ice ages in particular / E.J. Öpik.
Author(s): Öpik, E. J.
Date: 1953.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (1953.), Vol. 2(13) (1953)
Abstract: Develops method of quantitative climatological analysis by applying principle of geometric similarity to convective heat transport, which is assumed to vary with 1.5 power of temperature difference. Method makes possible calculation of change in mean annual or seasonal temperature that is produced by variation in insolation, cloudiness, snow cover, etc.
