Chapters describe population statistics 1900-1950, some family links from 1400-1770 (timber times) and from 1770-1900 (sailing ship times), merchants and trade 1742-1842 (the "privileged") and 1842-1900 (trading renaissance and Sandefjord), "the 54" (Sandefjord Handelsstands Forening's founders), Forening's activities (including whaling), and production companies (whale oil, sperm oil and miscellaneous manufactures). Final table gives quantity and value of whale and sperm oil at Sandefjord, Larvik and Tønsberg from 1919-1950. |
