Abstract: Describes method of estimating flexural stiffness and effective elastic modulus of floating ice based on analysis of water pressure recorded below ice when flexural-gravity waves propagate through it. Analyses relative errors in calculations of ice flexural stiffness and water depth. Tests method with field measurements from Tempelfjorden, Svalbard, following icefall in front of Tunabreen glacier in 2011.
