Record #214234:

Influences of reindeer grazing on above- and below-ground biomass and soil carbon dynamics / Kajar Köster, and 3 others.

Title: Influences of reindeer grazing on above- and below-ground biomass and soil carbon dynamics / Kajar Köster, and 3 others.
Author(s): Köster, Kajar.
Date: 2015.
In: Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research. (2015.), Vol. 47(3) (2015)
Abstract: Investigates effects of reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) grazing in northern boreal forests on: ground vegetation in general; ground vegetation structure and species composition; and tree regeneration. Also examines if and how reindeer grazing is affecting soil carbon dynamics. Finds that grazing significantly decreases biomass and cover of lichens in northern boreal sub-Arctic coniferous forests.
