Record #214153:
Effects of temperature rise and water-table-level drawdown on greenhouse gas fluxes of boreal sedge fens / Meeri Pearson, and 7 others.
Title: | Effects of temperature rise and water-table-level drawdown on greenhouse gas fluxes of boreal sedge fens / Meeri Pearson, and 7 others. |
Author(s): | Pearson, Meeri. |
Date: | 2015. |
In: | Boreal Environment Research. (2015.), Vol. 20(4) (2015) |
Abstract: | Examines effects of environmental warming and drying on instantaneous CO₂, CH₄ and N₂O fluxes in three sedge fens situated in Finland's northern and middle boreal zones. Warming was induced by means of open top chambers and drying through draining (ditching). Impact of simulated warming was negligible as warmer and dryer conditions caused net ecosystem exchange to decrease only at one of two mid-boreal sites. At other sites, temperature rise and/or drop in water-table level did not alter gas fluxes. |
