Record #214152:

Carbon dioxide and energy fluxes over a northern boreal lake / Annalea Lohila.

Title: Carbon dioxide and energy fluxes over a northern boreal lake / Annalea Lohila.
Author(s): Lohila, Annalea.
Date: 2015.
In: Boreal Environment Research. (2015.), Vol. 20(4) (2015)
Abstract: Presents data set comprising three months of carbon dioxide (CO₂) and energy fluxes measured by eddy covariance method over northern oligotrophic lake (Pallasjärvi, Finland), whose catchment is dominated by upland forest and wetlands. Pallasjärvi showed CO₂ emission rates that fall within wide range of fluxes reported in other European Community studies conducted on lakes in northern and middle latitudes. Although fluxes were small compared with those typical for terrestrial ecosystems, they must be accounted for in landscape-scale carbon balance estimates, since they significantly decrease land-surface carbon accumulation.
